Temwanani has extensive experience in gender-based violence (GBV) response and access to justice, with a strong focus on supporting women, girls, and children.
Prior to joining GJU, she served as a Senior Legal Aid Advocate at the Malawi Legal Aid Bureau and as Legal Manager at Inua Advocacy. Her work has involved case management from intake through court processes, as well as delivering legal services in underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
She has also coordinated community outreach initiatives, working closely with justice sector actors and partners, including UN Women (Spotlight Initiative) and the Women Lawyers Association of Malawi, and has supervised paralegals to support survivor-centred service delivery.
At GJU, she contributes to advancing access to justice, strengthening GBV response systems, and promoting ethical, coordinated, and rights-based legal practice.
