Santos Zefania

Santos Zefania is a Communications Officer at the Gender and Justice Unit (GJU), where he leads the development and implementation of communication strategies to support the organisation’s programmes and advocacy work. His role includes content production, media engagement, and strengthening GJU’s visibility across both traditional and digital platforms. Santos holds a qualification in Journalism and Media Studies from the Malawi Institute for Journalism. He has a background in reporting on local news and community issues, with a focus on governance, social justice, and human-interest stories. His experience includes field reporting and investigative journalism, where he has covered issues related to public accountability and social inequalities. In addition to his journalism work, Santos has experience in digital media, producing articles, interviews, and multimedia content tailored for online audiences. At GJU, he contributes to raising awareness on key issues including gender-based violence, human rights, and access to justice, supporting the organisation’s efforts to connect legal services with the communities they serve.
