Kathy Chibambo is the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator at the Gender and Justice Unit (GJU), where she leads the development and implementation of organisation-wide MEAL systems across GJU programmes and digital justice platforms.
She brings nearly a decade of experience in monitoring, evaluation, research, learning, and data systems management within education, governance, and development programming. Her expertise includes data analysis, digital monitoring systems, research design, impact evaluation, and donor reporting. At GJU, Kathy leads integrated monitoring and learning systems across initiatives, including EmpowerLine, MalawiLII, legal clinics, mobile courts, and community-based legal empowerment programming. She supports the development of data dashboards, impact reporting, organisational learning processes, and evidence generation to strengthen advocacy, accountability, and programme quality.
Prior to joining GJU, Kathy worked with organisations including Chemonics International, Winrock International, and Save the Children, supporting large-scale donor-funded programmes in education, child protection, and livelihoods. Her work has included leading MEAL systems for multi-partner consortia, coordinating evaluations and research, strengthening accountability mechanisms, and supporting evidence-based programme adaptation.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology from the University of Greenwich and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Analytics at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences.
