The Gender and Justice Unit is pleased to announce that our Founder and Executive Director, Sarai Chisala-Tempelhoff, has been selected for the prestigious 2025 African Visionary Fellowship by the Segal Family Foundation.
The Segal Family Foundation believes that stellar individuals leading exemplary organizations are best placed to devise contextual and sustainable solutions to local challenges. When analyzing the revenue growth of their partners, the foundation discovered that organizations founded and led by expatriates grew twice as fast as those led by Africans. Recognizing this disparity, the Segal Family Foundation created the African Visionary Fellowship in 2017 to disrupt this paradigm.
This exclusive two-year fellowship offers capacity, community, and connection. Fellows receive capacity support through one-on-one coaching, cohort workshops, and peer engagement. They are connected with a community of donors and implementers who provide both financial and non-financial support. Additionally, fellows join a network of like-minded changemakers working across the continent.
Sarai’s selection for this fellowship represents a significant opportunity for the Gender and Justice Unit to strengthen our programs, expand our reach, and enhance our impact in advancing gender equality and justice within our communities.
