Shingirai Mkamanga holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with a major in Human Rights and a minor in Development Studies from the University of Livingstonia. She has gained hands-on experience in legal information management, community outreach, and social development through internships and volunteer work with local NGOs and access-to-justice platforms. Her background reflects a strong foundation in research and advocacy, with a particular focus on promoting equity and inclusion in social systems.
She currently serves as a Project Officer (Intern) under MalawiLII at the Gender & Justice Unit, where she contributes to the updating and management of legal content. Her responsibilities include supporting legal publishing initiatives, project coordination, audit preparation, and broader organisational development. In addition to her work with MalawiLII, Shingirai is a contributing editor to the #48toInfinity project, an initiative focused on improving the online representation of Malawian women. In this role, she researches and drafts biographical entries for Wikipedia based on credible nominations and published sources, highlighting the stories of women in law, activism, leadership, and beyond.
Shingirai is passionate about advancing access to justice and promoting human rights by strengthening transparent legal systems and cultivating inclusive digital spaces. A fast learner with a keen eye for detail, she is highly organised and deeply committed to impactful, community-centered development. Her key strengths include legal research, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and public information dissemination. Her areas of interest include gender justice, digital rights, and youth advocacy, and she strives to use her skills to support sustainable, rights-based development.
